Managing supplement protocols in your Fullscript storefront

Providers

Protocols help you create guided supplement recommendations that you can share through your Fullscript storefront. Unlike collections, which group related products together, protocols combine supplements with dosage instructions, educational content, resources, and lifestyle recommendations to help patients understand what to take and why.

Think of a protocol as a guide for your patients, while a collection is a curated list of related products. You can share protocols publicly through your storefront or privately with specific patients

Note

Clerk accounts can’t create or edit protocols.

Creating a protocol

To create a protocol:

  1. Click My storefront in the navigation bar.
  1. Click Protocols.
  1. Click Create protocol in the upper-right corner of the page.
  1. Name your protocol, then click Create protocol.
  2. Add products to your protocol using the search bar.
  3. Once products are added, click Review.

Note

Labs can’t be added to protocols.

  1. Customize your protocol by adding:
  • product instructions
  • dosage durations
  • an educational description
  • resources or handouts
  • lifestyle recommendations
  • additional notes
  1. Under Summary, click the Edit (pencil) icon next to the protocol's access settings.
  1. Use the toggles to choose who can access the protocol:
  • Public – All patients and visitors: Anyone with the shareable link can view the protocol.
  • Private – Patients assigned to me: Only patients assigned to your account can access the protocol.
  • Private – Specific patients: Only the patients you select can access the protocol.
    • If you select Private – Specific patients, search for and select the patients you'd like to share the protocol with.
  1. Next, use the Send email toggle if you'd like Fullscript to email the selected patients and let them know you've shared a protocol with them. If you leave this option off, patients can still access the protocol from their Fullscript account the next time they sign in.
  2. Click Confirm and publish.

Sharing a protocol

After publishing a protocol, you can share it with patients based on the access level you selected.

Publicly shared protocol

Publicly shared protocols allow anyone with the shareable link to browse your recommendations.

Share a public protocol

  1. Go to My storefront > Protocols.
  2. Find the published protocol you'd like to share.
  3. Click Copy link.
  4. Share the link through email, your website, social media, QR codes, or other communication channels.

What patients see

Anyone with the shareable link can browse the protocol without an existing Fullscript account.

Before signing in, they'll see:

  • Practitioner or clinic name
  • Clinic logo
  • Protocol name
  • Your protocol description and educational content
  • Lifestyle recommendations and shared resources
  • Recommended supplements with dosage guidance
  • MSRP pricing

Patients can browse the protocol and add products to their cart without an existing Fullscript account. When they proceed to checkout, they'll be prompted to sign up or sign in before completing their order.

Privately shared protocols

When you share a private protocol with an individual patient or make it available to patients assigned to you, the patient accesses the protocol through their Fullscript account.

After signing in, patients can:

  • view your supplement recommendations
  • review any product instructions or notes you've included
  • add products to their cart
  • purchase immediately

If a patient receives a private protocol but doesn't yet have a Fullscript account, they'll be prompted to create one before accessing the protocol.

Deleting a protocol

To delete a protocol:

  1. Go to My storefront > Protocols.
  2. Find the protocol you want to remove.
  3. Click the more options menu ( ) beside Edit.
  4. Click Delete.
  5. Confirm that you want to delete the protocol.
Note

Deleting a protocol permanently removes it from your storefront. Patients will no longer be able to access it using a previously shared link.
