Lab testing with Fullscript explained

Patients

Fullscript partners with lab companies to support a smooth testing experience. After your provider recommends testing, we guide you through paying for your test and accessing your results.

Our mission is to make your lab testing experience as effortless as possible so you can get answers faster and focus on what matters most: your health.

Age and location restrictions

Some restrictions apply based on patient age and location. These may change over time due to lab or regulatory updates.

  • Testing is available for both adult and pediatric patients, but some individual tests may have age restrictions based on lab requirements.
  • Patients in the following states aren’t eligible for lab testing: HI, NJ, NY, and RI.
  • Patients in offshore US territories aren’t eligible for lab testing.
  • Lab testing isn’t available in Canada.

How the lab testing process on Fullscript works

Ready to start? Here’s what happens when your provider recommends tests:

  1. Review your recommended lab tests

After your provider creates a plan with testing, you’ll receive email and text notifications. These notifications will include a link to view your recommended lab tests in your Fullscript account.

Note:

You’ll only receive text message notifications if your mobile number has been added to your account.

  1. Payment

If your provider hasn’t already paid for testing, you’ll add your test(s) to your cart and check out.

Note:

All lab testing on Fullscript is cash-pay only and is not reimbursable with insurance. This includes direct insurance reimbursement and retroactive reimbursement through a Superbill.

Fullscript doesn’t determine HSA/FSA eligibility for lab tests. Patients should check with their plan administrator to confirm HSA/FSA coverage.

  1. Receive your test kit or digital requisition

Steps may vary depending on the lab test your provider recommends:

For specialty labs: At-home kits from specialty labs are shipped directly to your door. You’ll get an email within one business day of ordering with a tracking link and estimated arrival date, as well as next steps for completing your test.

Note:

If your specialty test requires phlebotomy, do not schedule a blood draw until your test kit arrives in the mail. You’ll need the materials included in the kit for your appointment.

For Quest bloodwork: You’ll get an email with a link to your digital lab requisition and step-by-step instructions for scheduling a blood draw at a nearby Quest location. Print the form or show it from your device at your appointment. It’s all in your Fullscript account—no physical kit required.

For Access Labcorp Draw bloodwork: Your requisition form will be available for download in your Fullscript account. You’ll need to print the form and bring it with you to your Labcorp appointment. Instructions for booking your appointment and completing your test will also be included in your account.

Note:

Instructions may vary slightly between blood lab providers. Be sure to check your Fullscript account for specific steps and documents related to your test.
