Sharing templates or protocols
This time-saving feature supports one-to-many care and a collaborative approach to wellness!
Before you continue, please select the button below that matches the terminology you see in your account:
Sharing templates with colleagues allows you to:
- Help colleagues save time when creating supplement plans.
- Work more collaboratively to see what your colleagues are including in their plans.
- Share your versions of multi-patient plans authored by your colleagues with all or select patients.
- Preserve plans that you've created, and allow your staff to access them to improve your shared workflow.
Sharing protocols with colleagues allows you to:
- Share protocols with other practitioners in your dispensary.
- Avoid starting from scratch! Save time by making copies of protocols peers share with you, then customize and extend in supplement plans for your patients.
- Share your versions of general wellness protocols authored by your colleagues with all or select patients.
- Preserve protocols you've created. Edits made to copies of a shared protocol will not impact the original author's protocol.
Note: Protocols can't be shared with clerks at this time.

Note: Before your peers can use a shared protocol, they'll need to make a copy. Changes they make to their versions will not affect the original protocol.
Creating copies of peer-authored templates or protocols
Before you continue, please select the button below that matches the terminology you see in your account:
If you'd like to create a new version of an existing template, a copy can be made via the supplement plan tool, as only the template author can edit an existing template.
Note: Copying a peer-authored template is not necessary to share it as a supplement plan with patients. If you have access to the template, you can use it for individual or multiple patients. For more details, refer to Creating and applying templates or protocols.
To create a new template from an existing one:
- Click Build plan.
- Click + Create template.
- In the supplement plan tool, click Apply template.
- Select the template you want to work from, then click Apply template.
- Create the rest of the new template as normal, adding products, resources, a message snippet, etc.
- Give the template a new name and adjust Access as needed.
- Click Save template.
Once complete, a your new version of that existing template will be available for use in creating individual or multi-patient supplement plans. You'll be able to edit your version of the template any time, and changes will not affect the original template you copied.
Before a peer-authored protocol can be shared as a general wellness protocol or sent to patients as a treatment plan, you'll need to make a copy. Once you've created your version, you can make any edit you like without altering the original author's version.

Tip! View protocols peers have shared with you in the Shared with me tab on the Protocols page.
To create a copy of a protocol:

- That's it! You can edit your version at any time, share it with all or select patients, and apply it to patient treatment plans.
Tip! We recommend editing the name of any copies created. Protocol names are visible to patients when shared as a general wellness protocol.
Editing peer-authored templates or protocols
Before you continue, please select the button below that matches the terminology you see in your account:
It's not possible to edit an existing template that was created by a peer or colleague. You can copy a template to make changes, but changes will only affect your version. See the Creating copies of peer-authored templates or protocols section above for more information.
Once a protocol is copied, there are no limitations to what you can change — the protocol's name, products, dosage instructions, messages, attachments; everything can be customized.
To edit a copy of a protocol, select your version from the Protocols page. This will take you to the editor, where you can update the protocol as needed. When you're finished, select Update protocol to save your changes.
Updating a saved protocol.
Tip! Edits to a general wellness protocol will update the protocol for all patients the protocol has been shared. Patients can explore your shared wellness protocols to explore your protocols without an appointment. These protocols are displayed in a separate tab, their Shared protocols tab, away from the patient's personalized treatment plans.
