Lab ordering access for international providers

Providers

What's changed

If you ordered labs on Rupa from outside the United States, your ordering access works differently on Fullscript. Rupa’s Physician Services could provide a signing clinician for providers outside the U.S. Fullscript’s authorization network currently doesn’t support providers based outside the U.S.

To order labs on Fullscript, you’ll need to meet one of the eligibility requirements below.

What you need to order labs on Fullscript

To order labs on Fullscript, you'll need at least one of the following:

  • A valid U.S. license
  • A valid U.S. NPI (National Provider Identifier)
  • A verified U.S. business address

If none of these apply to you, there's still a way to order: add a U.S.-based provider to your account to act as your signing practitioner. They can authorize lab orders on the account. Here's how to set up a signing practitioner on your account.

If you don't qualify yet

If none of the options above apply to you right now, you can join the waitlist. The waitlist simply registers your interest so we can reach out the moment international lab ordering becomes available. We don't have a timeline to share yet, but adding your name means you'll be among the first to hear when this changes.

Frequently asked questions

Can I add a U.S.-based colleague to my account?

Yes. If you work with a U.S.-based provider, they can be added to your account as a signing practitioner and authorize lab orders on the account. See Set up a signing practitioner on your account for the steps.

Why did this change from Rupa?

Labs on Fullscript authorizes lab orders through the authorization network, which is a different external signing-practitioner network than the one you used on Rupa. That network isn't set up to support providers based outside the U.S. right now. This isn't a reflection of you or your practice — it's a current limitation with the partner network.

What is the waitlist actually for?

The waitlist is simply a way to stay in the loop. Joining lets us know you're interested so we can reach out the moment we have news about supporting providers outside the U.S. It doesn't place an order or guarantee access, and there's no timeline attached to it.
