To prioritize the protection and security of health data and patient privacy, practitioners can’t permanently delete patients from their dispensaries. While you can’t delete patient accounts, you can archive them, which prevents patients from viewing their supplement plans and placing orders.
Note:
The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act of Canada (PIPEDA) require us to store patient health data, including supplement plans, in Fullscript.
Archiving patients
When a patient account is archived, they’ll no longer be able to sign in to your dispensary to view their plans or place orders. This can be used if you’re no longer seeing a patient, they’ve requested to be removed from your dispensary, or you don’t recognize a patient who signed up from your website on their own (using a Fullscript website button) and you want to prevent any patient orders you’re not comfortable with.
Archiving a patient’s account will prevent them from accessing the store, including existing supplement plans and order history. These patients can request information from their previous orders by contacting our Customer Support team.
To archive a patient:
Click the Patients tab in the navigation bar.
Select the patient profile you’d like to archive.
Click Account information in the patient profile.
At the bottom of the Edit patient drawer, click Archive patient.
Confirm by clicking Archive patient in the pop-up.
Note:
Archiving a patient adds the archived patient to the archived patient list. Patients won’t be notified when their account is archived. To view archived patients in your patient list, use the Patient Status filter and select Archived.
Restoring patients
When a patient’s account has been archived, the action can be reversed to restore access to their account.
To restore a patient:
In the Patients tab, click Patient Status.
In the dropdown, click Show Archived.
Find to the patient profile you’d like to reactivate, then click the patient’s name.
Click Account information.
Click Restore patient at the bottom of the Edit patient drawer.
Click Yes, restore this patient in the pop-up to restore the patient account.
Deactivating patients
Patient accounts can’t be permanently deleted. We recommend archiving them to block access to the dispensary. If a patient requests that their account be formally deactivated, patients can contact our Customer Support team to have their email address deactivated.
