Overview
To help your patients stay adherent to their treatment plans, we've made it easy to remove and swap products from active treatment plans. Changes to treatment plans are reflected in patient accounts immediately. Patients aren't notified when a prescription is updated, but you can resend a notification directly from the treatment plan when needed.
Removing a product
To remove a product from a treatment plan:
- From the patient's profile, click Prescriptions.
Note: This may display as Recommendations, depending on your dispensary terminology settings.
- Find the active treatment plan containing the product you want to remove and click View details.
- Click Update prescription.
- Hover over the product you want to remove and click the more options menu ( ).
- Click Remove.
Swap for a similar product
Fullscript's integrative medical team has curated a list of similar products to help you find suitable alternatives for your patients.
To swap a product in an active prescription for a similar product:
- From the patient's profile, click Prescriptions.
Note: This may display as Recommendations, depending on your dispensary terminology settings.
- Find the active prescription containing the product you want to swap and click View details.
- Click Update prescription.
- Click on the product you'd like to swap.
- In the catalog drawer, scroll down to the similar products heading.
- Choose a similar product and click Add.
Tip! Adding a similar product doesn't replace the product in the treatment plan; it will need to be removed manually, if necessary.
- Update the product's dosage instructions.
- Remove the product you're swapping out.
- Click Update prescription.
Add a new product
To add a new product to an active treatment plan:
- From the patient's profile, click Prescriptions.
Note: This may display as Recommendations, depending on your dispensary terminology settings.
- Find the treatment plan with the product you want to swap and click View details.
- Click Update prescription.
- When updating a treatment plan, click Add supplements to access the catalog and search for products.
- Select products to see descriptions, ingredients, available sizes, etc. Once you've found the product you'd like to include in the prescription, click Add.
- Adjust dosage instructions as needed and click Update prescription when finished.
Notifying patients of treatment plan updates
Patients are sent an email notification when an update to a treatment plan is made. Patients can also identify updates by referencing the date a product was added to the treatment plan, which is updated anytime a change is made.
To resend a notification to your patient when a change is made to a treatment plan:
- From the treatment plan, select Options.
- Click Notify patient
- Add a mobile phone number and click Send text to send as a text message. Alternatively, click Resend email to send the treatment plan to the patient's email address.
